What We Can Work On Together
Each session focuses on your goals and the realities of the church you serve.
Areas we can explore include:
Musicianship
Strengthen your playing, musical judgment, and ability to lead from your instrument. Work on arrangements, transitions, and supporting congregational singing.
Team Leadership
Build trust, encourage volunteers, offer constructive feedback, and navigate difficult conversations with clarity, humility, and care.
Rehearsal & Preparation
Plan purposeful sets, communicate arrangements clearly, and lead productive rehearsals that help your team arrive prepared and serve with confidence.
Worship & Discipleship
Connect what happens on stage with the heart of ministry: Scripture, spiritual growth, caring for people, and helping your congregation participate in worship.
Who This Is For
Preparing to Lead
You’re ready to move from participating on the worship team to leading others, and want practical guidance to build your confidence and prepare for that next step.
Growing in Responsibility
You’re taking on more—leading songs, planning sets, or running rehearsals—and want to develop your skills and confidence.
Already Leading
You’re serving as a worship leader or director and want experienced support with your team, musical decisions, and ministry challenges.
Whether you serve as a volunteer, part-time leader, or staff member, we’ll start where you are.
Meet Your Mentor:
Matt Thomas
Matt brings more than 30 years of worship ministry experience, serving churches ranging from congregations of 50 to more than 10,000 people in a single weekend. His experience spans volunteer ministry, contract work as a musician, choir direction, contemporary worship music direction, and full-time leadership as a worship pastor and Executive Pastor of Worship Arts. He continues to serve regularly in churches throughout the Atlanta area.
With a master’s degree in music and experience across hundreds of worship services, Matt understands worship leadership from the planning table to the platform. He has programmed services and set lists, led rehearsals, directed technical production, scheduled and developed teams, managed budgets, and mentored future worship leaders.
That breadth of experience shapes his mentorship: practical musical guidance, thoughtful leadership, and a commitment to caring for people. Whether you’re preparing to lead or navigating the responsibilities of an established ministry, Matt brings firsthand understanding of the work—and the heart—behind it.

Choose Your Rhythm
Meet online for 60 minutes, weekly or on alternating instructional weeks. We’ll confirm your recurring appointment and session dates before you begin.
Bring Your Real Ministry
Bring upcoming services, musical questions, rehearsal plans, or team challenges. Each session offers practical guidance you can apply in the church you serve.
Mentorship follows Vesper’s instructional calendar, including scheduled holidays and breaks.
A full semester includes 16 weekly sessions or 8 alternating-week sessions.
Mentorship Tuition
Alternating Weeks
$200 per month
60-minute online sessions
8 sessions per full semester
Provides time to apply what you’re learning between conversations, with regular guidance and support.
Weekly
$400 per month
60-minute online sessions
16 sessions per full semester
More frequent guidance as you grow your skills, prepare to lead, or work through ministry challenges.
Semester tuition is divided into five equal monthly installments—August through December and January through May—and reserves your recurring appointment.
Sessions follow Vesper’s instructional calendar, so the number of sessions varies by month. Monthly payments are installments toward semester tuition rather than month-to-month session fees.
